With a career dedicated to building organizations and fostering innovations, my expertise lies in philanthropic strategies designed to create change. Over the past 20 years, I have developed and executed strategies in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. During my eight-year tenure as Executive Director of the JRS Biodiversity Foundation, an independent foundation with $50M in assets, I transformed the institution into a focused, strategic philanthropy.
My experience at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation includes helping to start and lead a sixty-five-person team in Agricultural Development, committing over $1.7 billion in four years. I served in multiple roles, including Program Officer, Business Officer, and Senior Strategy Officer. Additionally, I have held senior positions at the Wharton School of Business, the World Resources Institute, Winrock International, and the International Food Policy Research Institute. My consulting work extends to Fortune 500 companies and major non-profit organizations.
I have served on governing boards, advisory boards, and task forces. I have a degree in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in Biology from M.I.T.
